2019, the UUR-Bucharest branch together with the Ukrainian Embassy in Romania organized an event to commemorate the victims of the Holodomor from 1932-1933 in Ukraine.

      A memorial prayer was held at the UUR-Bucharest headquarters, officiated by Father Corneliu Irod, after which a moment of silence was kept. The first vice-president of the Ukrainian Union of Romania, Bogdan Moisei, the president of the Bucharest Branch of the UUR, Mihai Traista, the president of the Iași Branch of the UUR, Victor Hrihorciuc and the Minister-Counselor of the Ukrainian Embassy in Romania, Yevhen Levy have spoken about the Holodomor. A documentary film “Holodomor 1932-1933 was presented at the event. The return to the history of Teteivcinii ”, a photo-documentary exhibition dedicated to commemorating the victims of the Holodomor was organized and poems were recited.

       On Sunday, November 24, at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Bucharest there was a parastas in memory of the victims of the Holodomor, officiated by Father Dumitru Colotelo.
